Nolan Sheehan Patten represents several housing authorities, including the Cambridge Housing Authority and the Brookline Housing Authority, in the conversion of their federal public housing stock to the Section 8 project-based voucher program through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Rental Assistance Demonstration program or a disposition of such public housing under Section 18 of the Housing Act of 1937, as amended, utilizing tax-exempt bond financing and federal Low-Income Housing Tax Credits or in separate affordable housing development projects outside of their federal public housing portfolio utilizing federal Low Income Housing Tax Credits and various types of state affordable housing financing. The Firm assists each housing authority with all elements of the transaction from entity formation and preparation of conveyance documents to permitting to structuring the bond financing and tax credits to maximize the availability of credits and bond volume for each project.
